Hyaluronic acid has received much press lately as a natural source of health and beauty. In fact, there are so many uses and benefits of hyaluronic acid, it is instructive to clarify and organize them.
The three main categories of uses for hyaluronic acid are: anti-aging treatments, nutritional supplements, and medical treatments.
Anti-Aging Supplements and Creams
As we age, hyaluronic content in the skin changes due to two separate clinically proven factors, decrease in HA synthesis and shift from concentration from the epidermis to the dermis. These changes can leave the epidermis depleted in hyaluronic acid resulting in thinning, aging, and decreased moisture in the skin. Nutritional supplement and beauty products such as Episilk ® contain ultra-high concentrations of hyaluronic acid in order to provide intensive moisture for aged skin that suffers from the dryness and wrinkles. When applied to the skin, HA can penetrate the skin surface and replenish the natural levels already present. Like hyaluronic acid produced in the body, hyaluronic acid used in this form moisturizes from the dermis to the epidermis - from deeper layers of the skin to the outer layer.
Nutritional Supplements
Hyaluronic acid extracted from rooster combs cannot be absorbed by the intestinal tract. But, Japanese scientists have developed a proprietary enzyme-cleaving technique to lower the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid without altering its chemical nature. This allows hyaluronic acid to be taken orally as a nutritional supplement, many varieties of which are readily available for commercial use.
Facial Injections
Hyaluronic acid based gel injections are a new option for the on-spot treatment of facial wrinkles. These shots must be administered by a dermatologist and last up to 4 to 6 weeks.
Medical Treatments
Products containing hyaluronic acid are in use or are being researched to aid in the prevention and treatment of symptoms related to connective tissue disorders such as: fractures, hernias, glaucoma, keratoconus, detached retinas, osteoarthritis, TMJ, prevention of scarring, vocal chord repair insufficiency, wrinkled skin, cartilage damage, and wound and ligament healing. Of these, osteoarthritis has recently become a particularly popular area for HA treatment. Physicians have injected hyaluronic acid directly into the synovial fluid in the knee as a treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee for the past 20 years. There is, however, an ongoing debate as to the efficacy of this treatment.

Whey protein is a popular supplement used by bodybuilders to add to their already high protein diets. Everyone needs protein and whey is the perfect protein because of its convenience and easy to use drinkability. This article will explain what whey protein is and why it`s the top selling sports nutrition product on the market today. You will also learn the common amino acids found in whey, best times to consume it, and learn how much whey you need in your daily diet.
During the process of converting milk into cheese, whey protein is separated out. Whey is the highest quality and best source of protein available to the public. It plays a role as an antioxidant and helps support a healthy immune system. Studies have shown that whey protein contains the perfect combination of amino acids needed for optimal performance in the body. Consistent supplementation of whey with a good exercise program will yield the results that you are looking for.
The amino acids commonly found in most whey powders can be classified in three different categories:
1) Essential Amino Acids
2) Non-essential Amino Acids
3) Conditionally Essential Amino Acids
The essential ones used in most powders powders are valine, threonine, isoleucine, leucine, and lysine. Non-essential amino acids include aspartic acid, serine, and alanine, while conditionally essential aminos are proline and glutamine. Most whey protein powders also include a decent amount of calcium and potassium, so its no wonder whey protein is the highest selling sports nutrition supplement on the market today.
Most athletes consume around thirty grams of whey protein daily, while some bodybuilders even take amounts higher than two-hundred grams. Large doeses are not recommended because it will overload your liver and you won`t get the same results you would get with a lower dosage. The best time to consume whey protein is directly after a workout with some form of simple carbs such as orange juice. When I supplement with whey, post-workout is the only meal I have it. I just make my meals with whole foods which in my opinion, tastes better.
Assuming you eat six or more meals per day, you can get away with having whey at three different times daily. Just make sure that the rest of your meals come from other protein sources such as egg whites and tuna. A diet when you`re only having whey protein will not only taste bland, but you will feel hungrier throughout the day because of whey`s instant digestability. Not what what you want when trying to lose fat. Until next time, later.

The nutrition facts at restaurants can be hard to come by if you don’t know where to look.
Most restaurants, especially fast food places, won’t just hand you a nutrition guide as you decide to order. You almost always have to request it specifically, and it will often take them a few minutes to track one down.
You can do a little research before heading out to some restaurants by visiting their website and looking over the nutritional information for their foods. Some even have information laid out in the same format as a nutrition facts label.
If you can’t find nutrition information, or you’re visiting a local restaurant that may not have that information readily available, you can keep the following points in mind:
==>Choose grilled or baked foods instead of fried
Instead of chicken nuggets, get a grilled chicken sandwich and cut it up. Choose a baked potato instead of french fries.
==>Go with fresh fruits or vegetables if possible
More and more restaurants are offering fresh fruit cups in place of fries. Take advantage of this!
==>Choose non-caffeinated, sugar-free drinks
Sugared drinks are one of the biggest sources of unnecessary calories. Restaurants are getting better at offering healthier choices of drinks, but sometimes you have to ask.

The function of the liver is to detoxify, filter and clean the blood of poisonous waste and toxic matter; regulates blood volume, and destroy old red blood cells. The liver stores glycogen, vitamins, other substances, and the energy are released between meals. This process helps to regulate blood sugar levels and keep the energy level constance during the day.
The liver has to filter out dead cells, chemicals, drugs and debris. It is the largest organ in the body and maybe the most important. To protect the liver:
* Stop using unnecessary medications
* Stop mixing medication without doctor’s advice
* Stop drinking more than two beers, two glasses of wine, or two liquor drinks a day.
* Use very little or no aerosol cleaner make sure the room is well ventilated
* Be careful of breathing bug spray , paint and other chemical sprays
The Liver Foundation states, “It is much more likely that poor nutrition is the result of chronic liver disease, and not the cause.” However, a balanced diet helps the liver to regenerate new liver cells. Many liver diseases are found among the malnutrition group. “The Cleveland Clinic” lists malnutrition as one of the causes for liver failure. However, diet alone will not cause liver disease.
Eating the proper nutrition along with other protecting sources will keep the liver healthy. In many liver diseases, nutrition is very important. 85%-90% of the blood leaving the stomach carries nutrients to the liver. The liver processes and converts carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and minerals to maintain body functions and secrete about a quart of bile each day, a digestive fluid with salt to aid in digestion. The liver can convert sugars into glycogen, which remains in the liver for quick energy. When there is a need, the liver releases the energy.
When amino acids reach the liver, they are released to the muscles for energy or are stored for later use and the rest is converted and excreted in the urine. Amino acids are proteins in their simplest form.

Based on what has been stated above, the daily menu of a health-building and vitalising diet should be on the following lines:
Upon arising: A glass of lukewarm water mixed with the juice of a half a lemon and a
teaspoon of honey, or a glass of freshly squeezed juice of any available seasonable fruit such as
apple, pineapple, orange, sweet lime, and grapes.
Breakfast: Fresh fruits such as apple, orange, banana, grapes, or any available seasonal
fruits, a cup of butter-milk or unpasteurised milk and a handful of raw nuts or a couple of
tablespoons of sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
Mid-morning snack: One apple or a banana or any other fruit.
Lunch: A bowl of freshly prepared steamed vegetables using salt, vegetable oil and butter for
seasoning, one or two slices of whole grain bread or chappatis and a glass of butter-milk.
Mid-afternoon : A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice or any available fruit.
Dinner: A large bowl of fresh salad made up of green vegetables, such as tomatoes, carrot,
cabbage, cucumber, red beet and onion with lime juice dressing, any available sprouts such as
alfalfa seeds, and mung beans, a warm vegetable course, if desired, one tablespoon of fresh
butter, cottage cheese, or a glass of butter-milk.
The above menu is a general outline around which an individual diet can be built. It can be
modified and changed to adopt to specific requirements and conditions. The menu for lunch and
dinner is interchangeable.
Do not drink liquids with meals. The water should be taken half an hour before meals or an hour
after meals. Milk, buttermilk, and vegetable soups are foods and can be taken with meals.

I am going to share with you possibly the most important piece of
advice you will ever receive about nutrition. This piece of advice
is not about supplementation. It is not about what you should be eating.
However this piece of advice affects every other dietary choice that you make.
Are you ready?
Chew your food!
Chewing is the first step of the digestive process. The fancy word
for it is mastication. What it means is that what you put in your
mouth is ground up into smaller pieces and mixed with some digestive
enzymes to begin the digestive process.
What is the digestive process? To understand the process, it’s best
to first understand the purpose. The purpose of digestion is to extract
beneficial materials from what you eat and expel the rest. This process
involves breaking down your food into smaller and smaller pieces.
When some of those pieces are small enough they are absorbed into your
bloodstream. Other components, like insoluble fiber, continue on through
your intestines and help to expel other waste products and to clean the
surfaces of your intestines.
So what does this have to do with chewing? If you do not properly to your
food, what you have eaten will go through your digestive system as large
pieces of food. You do not have teeth anywhere else in your body. After
you swallow your food, there are no other opportunities to break up large
pieces of food. The acid from your stomach and the enzymes from your small
intestine will only be able to act on the exposed surfaces. Chewing properly
is the only way to grind up your food so that it is small enough to allow
the rest of your digestive system to extract as many of the available
nutrients as possible.
So the next time you eat, put a little thought into the first step of
digestion. Chew your food.

Vegetarianism is being initiated by the Sages in China and India since time immemorial to prohibit the infliction of cruelties upon fellow animate beings. It is the very basic in the cultivation of compassion and love among all sentient beings. Today, with adequate evidential materials which involve men from all walks of life and traditions, vegetarianism is acknowledged all over the world, as essential diet to promote not only health consciousness but also moralities as the principality of life as well. It is a goal towards Universal love and peace and a provider of good health for the soul.
Many scientists have come to a conclusion that man is by nature to live not on meat but on a vegetable diet. Man’s structure, external and internal, compared with that of the other animals, shows that fruit and succulent vegetables constitute his natural food. On top of all the contrasts, herbivorous animals are docile in nature but that of meat-eating carnivorous animals are fierce and wild.
Fats of animal flesh such as cholestrol do not dissolve easily in the human body. Instead they deposit themselves unceasingly upon the walls of the meat-eater’s blood vessels. As time goes by, the vessels become thicker and norrower, permitting lesser blood to flow through. This affects the function of the heart that is forced to increase its pumping capacity in order to send blood through clogged and contracted vessels. As a result, high blood pressure, strokes and heart attack prevail.
On the other hand, during the agony of being slaughtered, the terrified animals undergo profound changes. First of all, secretion of toxins generated by rage and fear at the time of slaughter, are forced into the blood stream. Through circulation of blood, these poisonous substances are pervaded to various muscles of their bodies. Slaughter not only terminates the normal cleansing functions of the body but also leaves the animals saturated with their own waste substances.
Toxin wastes, including uric acid are present in the blood and tissue, as also are bacteria from animal diseases, such as hoof and mouth disease, contagious abortion, swine fever, malignant tumor, etc. Urea and uric acid which deposit in the muscle fibers of meat are among the most eminent wastes that a meat-eater burdens his body with. A pound of beefsteak contains about 14 grams of uric acid. The intake of uric acid is too much for the kidneys and liver to eliminate beside the body’s own daily production and as a result, the excess uric acid is deposited throughout the body hence causing painful conditions of gout, rheumatism, headache, epilepsy, hardening of the arteries and nervousness and many others.
Man is by nature a vegetarian spiritually. In the Genesis of the Bible, under the story of creation, God, after created human said, “I have provided all kinds of grain and all kinds of fruit for you to eat; but for the wild animals and for all the wild birds I have provided grass and leafy plants for food.”
Man is not just a body of mere biological organism. The greatest concern is the acquisition of insights into man’s innermost being which is frequently referred to as his “Spiritual Nature or Conscience.” From the standpoint of Nature’s Law and Order, all creations are one - that is, all life forms whether human or non-human, are descendants of a common root.

T.A Chew, an accountant by profession, after reading a message from Goddess of Mercy, “Show mercy, in return you shall receive mercy” told himself that “vegetarianism” has great meaning. To cultivate compassion, he must be a vegetarian himself.

Many of the individuals who had after hip replacement used in their hip replacement operations are learning that there are difficulties that far surpass the conventional expectations for recuperation. These individuals are experiencing a lot of needless pain for lengthier time periods, needing a revision surgical processes and enlarged medical costs, and losing income by not physically being able to work at their regular businesses. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is postulating that that their implant is not possibly malfunctioning and say it is not their fault for the faulty surgical procedures, numerous poor people are filing lawsuits against them and taking settlements.
In the month of October, 2008 Zimmer announced that it had set aside $47.5 million to compensate for claims filed against them. Many doctors have some issues that the durom cup hip implant is as good as the company says it is. As A Matter Of Fact, when Zimmer offered up online coaching to MD’s in order to instruct them what they said were more accurate methods for doing the implant operation, approximately half of the MD’s declined to participate. Therefore, the whole situation remains to be irritating for everyone involved, but none more than the hundreds of unfortunate people who are looking forward to revision surgical procedure due to problems with their implant experiencing looseness from the socket.
These annoyed patients definitely deserve some aid and compensation which is the reason product liability attorneys are suggesting and telling them to initiate the filing of a lawsuit. dorum hip has been resolving these claims before they go to court. Nonetheless, even if the payoff they are being offered seems like a fair amount, in numerous cases individuals are deciding too quickly and without allowance put in place for reoccuring issues down the road. Without waiting to find out what cases are actually going to be worth, individuals may find themselves incurring alot more expenses out of their own pocket when more problems start to surface.
If your orthopedic doctor tells you that youre going to need revision surgical operation to correct your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, call an attorney immediately.
As soon as lawyer realizes that you have a good case, be prepared to spend some time waiting it out for the best possible settlement that you can get. Pay close attention to the wisdom and advice that your lawyer gives to you and do not get impatient and demand a quick timeframe for restitution. Being patient at this stage of the case can pay off vs. just rushing the process.
